It must be clearly understood that any university issuing academic degrees without governmental accreditation is engaging in fraudulent and unethical practice. For this reason, Catholic Open University has temporarily closed admissions to all postgraduate degree programs until full governmental accreditation is obtained. Governmental recognition is an ethical and legal requirement before any academic degrees can be formally awarded.

Postgraduate degrees are expected to launch in 2028–2029, once all accreditation processes have been completed and publicly documented.
The university’s currently active programs—the Research & Publishing Program and the Honorary Doctorate Degree Award Program—are fully aligned with the scope of the private accreditation already granted. Because the Honorary Doctorate is an honorary distinction based on documented scholarly or professional contribution, and not an earned academic qualification for employment or licensure, the university’s present accreditation status is fully sufficient, ethically compliant, and institutionally appropriate for the conferral of honorary degrees.
